CYPRUS WOMEN’S CUP: FALCONS BEAT THAILAND IN CLASSIFICATION MATCH

Nigeria women’s national team, Super Falcons beat Thailand 3-0 in the seventh-place classification match of the Cyprus Women’s Cup on Wednesday.

With this result, the African champions won two matches and lost two in a campaign they failed to progress from Group C.

They had lost 1-4 to Austria and 0-1 to Belgium while besting Slovakia 4-3 in the group.

Asisat Oshoala opened scores in the 23rd minute while Onome Ebi made it two five minutes later.

Anam Imo made victory certain in the 73rd minute.

Super Falcons finished the Cyprus Women’s Cup in seventh place

The tournament is part of the team’s preparations for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in June.

They begin their World Cup campaign in Group A against Norway on June 12 before games against South Korea and France.
